The Treasures of Persia tour is one of the most desirable travel packages, covering the beauties of the diverse natural areas and landscapes of Iran, yet offering a remarkable journey through the historical and cultural cities of the Persian Empire and the modern Iran. This 22-day/21-night tour takes the traveler from the beauties of mountainous and wooded areas of the Caspian Sea in the north to the amazing oasis and desert regions in the center and south of the country. The tour starts and ends in Tehran, the never-sleeping Capital of Iran. It then goes through many symbolic cities and attractive tourist sites such as the historical city of Qazvin, Takhte-Soleiman (Throne of Solomon ) and Dome of Soltaniyyeh, the famous silk road of Tabriz, the rocky village of Kandovan, the UNESCO registered Sheikh Safi al Din mausoleum in Ardebil, a Caspian Sea harbor of Anzali, the hanging-houses village of Masuleh, the adobe city of Kerman, the desert’s bride city of Yazd, the roses and poetry city of Shiraz, the Persian Empires remains of Persepolis and Pasargadae, the East pearl city of Esfahan, the wind-catchers city of Kashan and the Holy Shrine of Hazrate Masumeh in Qom.

Itinerary in details:

Day 1: Flight Origin / Tehran
Take the flight to Tehran.  Meet at the airport and transfer to your hotel accommodation in Tehran.

Day 2: Tehran
Spend the day visiting Golestan Palace and a few top selected museums in Tehran including the Abgineh Museum of Glassware and Ceramic, National Museum, and Carpet Museum.

Day 3: Tehran / Qazvin / Zanjan
Depart towards Zanjan about 300 km north-west of Tehran. On the way, you will visit the historical city of Qazvin, the first capital of the Persian Empire under Safavids, nowadays known as the calligraphy capital of Iran. Spend time to see the early Safavid palace complex named Chehel Sotun Qazvin and Aminiha Hosseiniyeh a historic traditional house. Arrive in Zanjan in the afternoon.

Day 4: Zanjan / Takhte-Soleiman / Maragheh
Begin your road trip to Maragheh. On the way visit Takhte-Soleiman (Throne of Solomon): a UNESCO registered sanctuary of Zoroastrians and the ancient Sassanid Empire. The next stop will be another UNESCO World Heritage Site i.e. Gonbad-e Soltaniyeh (Dome of Soltaniyyeh), the highest adobe dome in the world. Arrive in Maragheh to visit the attractive Gonbad-e Sorkh (Red dome), and three other domes of Borj-e Modavvar, Kabud, and Gonbad-e Qaffariyeh.

Day 5: Maragheh / Tabriz
Departure to Tabriz. Full day sightseeing in Tabriz. You will visit Tabriz Historic Bazaar Complex, the largest Bazaar in the world and a UNESCO world heritage site. Other attraction sites are including the Azerbaijan Museum, the Kabud Mosque (Blue Mosque), and the Elgoli Park.

Day 6: Tabriz / Kandovan / Sarein
Head to Sarein, a city known for its hot springs. On the way, you stop to visit the historical village of Kandovan (one of the three rocky villages of the world) and enjoy the landscapes of troglodyte people. Continue towards Sarein.

Day 7: Sarein- Ardabil- Anzali
Begin the road trip from Sarein towards the Caspian Sea (the largest lake in the world). On the way, you visit the city of Ardabil and its fantastic attractions including the UNESCO registered Sheikh Safi al Din Mausoleum, the Safaivd-period bazaar, and Jame Mosque of Ardabil. Continue the route to reach the seaport of Anzali in Gilan province. Take a stroll along the coast of the Caspian Sea.

Day 8: Anzali- Masuleh- Tehran
Head to Tehran, driving through the green and lesser-known landscapes of Iran in the north. On the way, you will have a stop to visit the architecturally unique city of Masuleh with buildings built into a green mountain. Continue the route and arrive in Tehran in the afternoon.

Day 9: Tehran
Full day visit to the city of Tehran. You see the National Jewellery Museum and Sa’dabad Palace. In the afternoon, take a stroll through the Tajrish bazaar and visit the Mausoleum of Imamzadeh Saleh in the north of Tehran.

Day 10: Tehran / Kerman
Morning airport transfer for your flight to Kerman, the capital of the province of the same name, located in southeast Iran almost 1000 Km away from Tehran. Visit the historical part of the city known as the Ganjali Khan Complex which is composed of a square, a school, a caravanserai, a bathhouse, a mint, a mosque, and a bazaar. You will also visit Grand Bazaar and the 14th century Jame Mosque of Kerman (Grand Mosque).

Day 11: Kerman / Mahan / Rayan / Kerman
Spend the day visiting two historical cities of Rayen and Mahan about 90 Km away from Kerman.  Citadel of Rayen, the biggest earthen structure of Kerman province after Bam citadel situated in the south-west of Rayen city. The temple of Shah Nematollahe Vali, a Grand Sufi Master, and Bagh-e Shahzade (Prince’s Garden, a UNESCO World Heritage site) are both situated in Mahan. Back to Kerman in the afternoon.

Day 12: Kerman /Yazd
Depart to the city of Yazd, the bride of the desert. The city is 368 km northwest of Kerman going through the amazing desert landscapes and it takes about 4 hours by bus. On the way, you visit the Zeinodin Caravanserai situated on the ancient Silk Road.

Day 13: Yazd
Full day visit to the adobe city of Yazd and selected historical sites such as the Amir Chakhmagh monumental complex including a caravanserai, a bathhouse and a cold-water well. Take a stroll through the narrow alleys of the old city with traditional houses. You will also visit Atash Behram Temple (Fire of Victory) with continuous burning of sacred fire since the fifth century, the 12th century Jame Mosque of Yazd, Towers of Silence, and Dolatabad Garden.

Day 14: Yazd / Abarkuh / Pasargadae / Shiraz
Depart Yazd towards Shiraz, the City of Roses and poetry. On the way to Shiraz, you will visit Abarkuh a famous city during the Silk Road and Pasargadae, the capital of the Achaemenid Empire under Cyrus the Great.

Day 15: Shiraz
Full day visit to the city of Shiraz and its numerous attraction sites including the Grand Bazaar, Vakil Mosque and Bath, Arge Karimkhan, Eram Garden, the Nasir ol Molk Mosque, the Garden of Narenjestan Ghavam, the Koran Gate, Shah Cheragh Mausoleum.

Day 16: Shiraz / Persepolis / Shiraz
Morning Departure to the ancient city of Persepolis, visiting the remains of the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid Empire, 50 km from Shiraz. You also visit four cave-like Achaemenid royal tombs of Naghsh-e Rajab and Naghsh-e Rostam. Return to Shiraz for the afternoon visit to Hafezieh, the Mausoleum and the memorial garden and building of the celebrated Persian poet Hafez (1324-1391).

Day 17: Shiraz /Izadkhast / Esfahan
Morning Departure to Esfahan, the city known as the pearl of the orient. On the way you stop to see the historical village named Izadkhast, visiting the Izadkhast Complex including Izadkhast Castle and Caravanserai and a Safaivd-period bridge. Continue the route to Esfahan.

Day 18: Esfahan
A full day of sightseeing in Esfahan, visiting the great Naghsh-e Jahan Square, Grand Bazaar, Shah Mosque (Imam Mosque), Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, Jame Mosque of Esfahan, and AliQapu Palace.

Day 19: Esfahan
Another full day sightseeing in Esfahan visiting Chehel Sotun Palace and Hasht Behesht Palace, take a stroll in the Armenian district of Jolfa and its narrow alleys visiting Vank cathedral, spending time to see the historical bridges of Zayandeh Rood especially Si-o-Se Pol and Khaju Bridge.

Day 20: Esfahan / Abyaneh / Kashan
Begin road trip to Kashan (216 km), the city of badgirs (wind-catchers). On the way, you visit the red mud-brick village of Abyaneh which is one of the oldest villages of Iran keeping the history and culture of the Zoroastrian faith (the ancient pre-Islamic religion of Iran). Arrive in Kashan to visit the historical Garden of Fin (a UNESCO World Heritage site), Agha Bozorg Mosque and school, and the historic Borujerdi House.

Day 21: Kashan / Qom / Tehran
Road trip to Tehran early in the morning. You will stop in the city of Qom to visit the Holy Shrine Complex of Hazrat-e Masumeh. Continue the route to Tehran.

Day 22: Flight Tehran / Origin
Transfer to the airport. Check-in for your return flight home.
